There is a lot of information about how to get rid of bags under the eyes, ranging from home remedies, to expensive surgery. In between there are countless creams and serums that promise to rid the eyes of bags and puffiness, although obviously some are more reputable than others.
Under eye bags appear for a number of different reasons and it must be determined what they are due to before finding out how to get rid of them. If it is obvious that the bags under the eyes are not due to lack of sleep, but appear to be worse in the morning, it could be that they are caused by fluids settling in the eye area. Although this can be helped by sleeping slightly elevated, it is probably a good idea to cut down on salt in the diet, a major cause of fluid retention.
If illness and allergies have been ruled out as causes of bags under the eyes, it may be worth using an eye cream specifically designed to reduce puffiness. These creams actually have the reverse effect of wrinkle creams, by toning and tightening the skin in the eye area, rather than plumping it up. Most creams will normally contain some type of light moisturizer or anti-oxidant in addition to the more astringent ingredients, so although they will not help wrinkles, they will improve the texture of the skin.
There are also many different natural remedies that address the problem of how to get rid of bags under the eyes, and most will have at least a temporary effect on the eyes. However, the only guaranteed way to rid the eyes of bags is by having a form of surgery performed, whether it is the standard Blepharoplasty procedure or one of the newer, less invasive laser surgeries.
